  • Council approves Continuity of Care policies The CPSO Council approved four inter-related Continuity of Care policies, which are an essential component of patient-centred care and patient safety.
  • Recognizing Intimate Partner Violence — in Our Patients and Colleagues CPSO considers violence against women – especially intimate partner violence (IPV) – a major issue, because it is a major health issue. But with the tragic 2016 murder of Dr. Elana Fric, we have learned that IPV affects not just patients, but also Ontario’s physicians.
  • Criminal charges and findings of guilt from other jurisdictions Council has proposed a by-law that, if approved, will see criminal charges and findings of guilt from other jurisdictions that occur after January 1, 2019 posted on the public register.
  • Celebrating Ontario Doctors Doctor's Day is a day to celebrate Ontario physicians for their dedication and commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to patients.
  • CPSO Council Award Know an outstanding Ontario physician? Nominate them for a 2020 CPSO Council Award, our way of recognizing excellence in the medical profession. Deadline for submissions: September 30.
  • CPSO Opioid Strategy The College’s Opioid Strategy has four key elements: Guide, Assess, Communicate and Respond.
  • Medical Assistance in Dying Policy sets out professional and legal obligations and criteria for medical assistance in dying, including specific practice-related steps to follow.
